Can The Kat's Heaters Vehicle Interior Heater # KH37100 Prevent Snow Accumulation On A Vehicle Roof
Question:
Hi! I am glad I found your product. I am currently looking to purchase a Mini Cooper convertible. Unfortunately, I do not have enough space to put the car in the garage during times when it is snowing. I live in Utah, and we do get a good amount of snow. My objective is to have the heater in the car so the snow does not weigh down the convertible top. Keeping a warmer temperature, say 60 degrees on a timer that turns the heat on and off inside the car when it is snowing will not allow the snow to accumulate on the roof of the car. Given that the top is cloth, I assume the heat inside the car should prevent the snow from accumulating. The fact that it takes 15 minutes to warm up, I should be able to have the heater turn on for 20 minutes, every 2 hours, maybe ever 4 hours, depending on the effect of the heater on the convertible top. Does this heater have an adjustable temperature? The heater would have to run intermittently during those times when it is snowing. During the times when it just cold outside, the heater would be off. My concern is snow accumulation, not the temperature when I get in the car. I just need this to prevent weight damage to the top when it is snowing. I look forward to your reply. If this works, I will purchase the car. Just want to get your input before I make the purchase. Sincerely,

The Kat's Heaters Vehicle Interior Heater # KH37100 would definitely help keep the interior of a Mini Cooper warm during snowy weather, but it hasn't been tested to see if the rise in temperature would be enough to warm the top high enough to melt any snow accumulation. This heater doesn't have an on/off switch so you'd have to have it on a timer switch to prevent it from running constantly. The temperature isn't controllable but the heater does have an overheat protection feature to shut itself down if the unit starts to get too hot.
Your best bet is going to be getting a collapsible carport to have a barrier over the vehicle and prevent the snow from accumulating on the roof of the Mini.
