Can I Add A 7 Way Plug And Brake Controller To A 2024 Subaru OUtback?
Question:
I’m having problems finding the correct info… can a brake box amd 7 pin successfully be added to my 2024 Outback. I’m getting contradicting information from different people that it’s not possible without messing up my body control module. Am I able to do this with bypassing that module

Yes, it is possible to add a 7 way plug and a brake controller to a 2024 Subaru Outback. We would do this by first adding a 4-pin connector # C56040, then adding the Universal Install Kit # ETBC7. This kit would essentially bypass the vehicles wiring and add a 7- way plug to the back, as well as all of the necessary wires for a brake controller. So this would not effect any OEM control module. For a brake controller we recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR, you will also need the universal pigtail # RED69FR.
I will say that we have not yet installed this kit on a 2024 Outback, but we have done so successfully on many other Subaru models without issue. I have linked a few of our Subaru install videos below if you want to take a look.
