Can I Replace An Aluminum Trailer Tongue With A Galvanized Tongue To Add A Fold-Away?

If my aluminum trailer has aluminum tongue, can I replace the tongue with a galvanized one? So I can add a foldaway.

While it certainly is possible to replace the aluminum tongue on your trailer with a galvanized tongue, we do not carry any kind of parts or adapters for this purpose. So all of this is provided you have a fabricator that is able to do that kind of work. The main concern there is the risk excessive corrosion, due to the contact of dissimilar metals, which can cause problems in the long run. In this case there is really no way around this, so it will ultimately be up to you to decide is the risk/cost is worth the benefit of a fold away tongue.
