What Does Hitch Classification Indicate

my curt trailor hitch, label show 800 tongue weight and 8000 towing . dont showing class of the hitch, showing V5 should it show class of the hitch. thanks

Hitch Classification is basically just a way to organize hitches by similar capacity. It's not something that really means a whole lot beyond that. If you have an 8k trailer towing capacity that's most likely a Class 4 or Class 5.
