Why Can't Supplemental Braking System be Powered From Towed Vehicle
Question:
I want to install a 12 volt outlet inside my vehicle to power my auxiliary braking system but dont want to run it from my cars battery, can I connect the 12 volt outlet directly to the 6 pin connector ground and 12 volt power pins coming from the RV?

While that is a clever solution the reason you don't want to do that is because in the event of a disconnect on the highway the breakaway system designed to activate the towed vehicles brakes would lose power and the vehicle wouldn't stop like it needs to. So the short answer is it technically could work but would be dangerous and could hurt someone.
This is why it's best to run it to the towed vehicle battery.
