Does VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera Need the Trailer to be Connected to Tow Vehicle for Power
Question:
Does the Travel Trailer have to be hooked up to the tow vehicle and the lights on and engaged in reverse to work? I have registered in the app and it won’t find the WiFi. I have uninstall the app and reinstalled and it won’t find the WiFi. I had it installed a month ago and have yet to use it. I wished it worked.

It depends on how you have the power source connected for the VueSMART RV and Trailer Backup Camera # HM34FR. If it is connected to the reverse light function then yes, your trailer needs to be connected and the tow vehicle placed into reverse for the camera to receive power, which in turn will produce that WiFi signal.
I recommend connecting the camera to the running light circuit on your tow vehicle that way all you have to do is turn your headlights on to power the camera. This gives you more control over the camera instead of only getting to see it when your vehicle is in reverse.
