Replacement B&W Companion Base for Ford Puck Systems w/ a 25,000 lbs Capacity
Question:
I noticed BandW sell the bases separate from the fifth wheel head. I am curious if the base is all that determines the weight limit and if the heads themselves are the same. I currently have a 20k slider BandW companion Ford oem puck mount. RVB3370 is the part number. I want to upgrade to non slider 25k but i was wanting to just buy the base and use the head from the 20k slider. Do not need slider with a long bed truck. 2021 f-450 superduty with OEM prep.

You are correct. The base of the B&W Companions, like your item # BWRVK3370, do determine the hitches capacity. To replace the base you will need the Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty item # BWRVB3305. This one is rated for 25,000 lbs and will drop right down into the puck system in your 2021 Ford F-450.
