Recommended Mounting Location for Battery Isolator # PK5231201
Question:
I have a 7 blade connector in the bed of my 2011 GMC sierra to power my truck camper. Can I mount this solenoid under my truck, just before the wiring goes into the 7 blade, on the 12V line coming from the truck to the 7 blade? Is the isolator weatherproof?

I spoke with my contact regarding your question. I would refer to the battery isolator # PK5231201 as being weather resistant, but NOT weatherproof. I would recommend installing the isolator in a more protected spot than under the truck bed. Installing the isolator in the engine compartment, where it would be a bit more protected would be the best bet.
