Troubleshooting Intermittent Trailer Connection Issue 2011 Ford F-250
Question:
I have a 2011 F250. Occasionally I get a message saying trailer disconnected. As soon as I touch the brakes the message changes to trailer connected Not how to diagnose this problem

That is a dirty trailer wiring connector. Try taking some sandpaper to the pins of your 7-way to clean off any dirt and corrosion and the intermittent connection issue you have will be taken care of.
