I recommend the Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59507 as the best option for reducing rear sag on your 1997 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 XJ. These allow you to adjust the air pressure in the air springs to reduce sag and dial in your ride quality. The Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System # AL25980 will allow you to easily adjust the air pressure from the included wireless remote.
If you prefer a system which requires less input you will want to use the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-402-40. These are maintenance free and will provide up to 1,000lbs of support with the springs compressed 50%.
