Weight Capacity of UFP 2" x 2" Square Axle with L44649 Bearings
Question:
Can you tell me the capacity of my UFP 2X2 square tube axle, the serial number is A479730. The inner and outer bearings on the spindle are the same size, info on bearings are L44649, UNA-D and J6L17BA6. The axle is mounted over a 24 inch long x 1and 3/4 inch wide 4 leaf slipper spring. Also would it be possible to remount the axle as a underslung or dose the axle have a factory bow.

Expert Reply:
Your 2" x 2" UFP square axle should have a weight rating of 2,000 lbs or 2,200 lbs as that's the typical weight ratings for axles that use # L44649 inner and outer bearings. I don't have a chart showing what serial number axles have what capacities but you can verify this by looking at the axle tag located in the middle of the axle as that should have a weight capacity listed.
Square tube axles typically don't have a bow to them so you can flip the axle without needing an Over-Under conversion kit.
