Troubleshooting Water Back Flow When Filling Fresh Water Tank On a 2019 Jayco Jay Flight SLX Baja

Question:

I have a 2019 Jayco Jayflight SLX Baja. I have a fill nozzle made out of rubber but can only turn water on at an extremely slow rate. It seems the pipe going into the tank has a steep downward angle, not allowing the nozzle to go in very far, which causes back flow if I use more than just the slightest water pressure. Is there a fill nozzle that might have more flex to it allowing me to get the nozzle further into the fill pipe to help alleviate back flow?

All of the fresh water tank fillers like the Valterra # A01-0031VP you found are only going to have a short amount of hose. I recommend removing the access panel to access the hose which travels from your inlet to the fresh water tank. It may have a kink or need to be replaced so the water will no longer back flow out of the inlet unless the tank is full. As campers do not always have the best build quality they may have installed a hose which is to short or long which caused a kink and is restricting flow into the tank.
