Recommended Equalizer System For A 24 Camper With A Tongue Weight Of 965 lbs
Question:
currently i have a 22foot outdoors rv that i haul with a toyota tundra 2017. GVWR on the trailer is 6600lbs/TW 660lbs. I have been using the equal-i-zer 10000/1000 weight distribution unit. Im considering going with a 24foot outdoors rv with a GVWR at 9995lbs/TW at 965lbs. My question is will I still be able to use the 10000/1000 distribution system or will I need to go up to the 12000/1200 system. thanks in advance

Great question. With the new trailer with the GVWR at 9995lbs/TW at 965lbs, we do recommend going with the 12K Equalizer system. You will be pushing the 10K system right to its limit, and if there is any additional tongue weight (propane, spare tire ect..) you would be risking pushing it past capacity. This is not worth the risk in my opinion. The 12K equalizer will work with trailers with a tongue weight between 800 and 1,200 lbs. So it will be perfect for your new 24' camper. We have the 12K Equalizer system available with part # EQ37120ET.
