Solar Panel System Compatibility With A Progressive Dynamics Power Center
Question:
I want to use the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series Mini RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel in my trailer but need to know if I can use solar panels to charge battery using this distribution panel. Will I have to turn off solar panels before using shore power?

Solar panel systems will typically have a charge controller and run directly to the battery and should not be wired into the Progressive Dynamics Power Center # PD4060K. The # PD4060K converter reads the charge level of the battery and adjusts the charge it's sending to it so it would be compatible with solar panels also sending power to the battery without issue. You wouldn't need to do anything extra for them to both charge the battery.
