Is There Way to Increase Towing Capacity of 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Hi there, I have a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 2WD and I am wondering what it would take to increase the towing capacity by at least 1000lbs or if its even worth it. My wife and I are looking into getting a small RV that would weigh ~3000lbs and Im worried we dont have enough vehicle for it. Any tips/suggestions would be great! Thanks!

There's no safe way to actually increase the towing capacity of a vehicle. There's things that can help a vehicle tow it's current capacity safer like suspension enhancement like the SumoSprings part # CSS-1125R which will reduce suspension sag, or transmission cooler like the part # FLX400117 but the actual towing capacity was set by the manufacturer and is based on several other components like braking system, chassis strength, hitch capacity, cooling capacity, engine horsepower/torque etc.
Sometimes a vehicle will have a second, higher towing capacity if a weight distribution system is used like the Reese part # RP65509 but that would be listed on the hitch of the vehicle or in the owners manual.
It looks like your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a towing capacity of 3,500-7,200 lbs depending on how it's equipped so a 3,000 lb trailer would be fine.
