Replacement Wiring Harness for a 2013 Volvo S60
Question:
Greetings! I installed this part HM11143720 on my 2013 Volvo S60, and it has served me well for several years now. However, I recently purchased a used boat trailer, and the instant I connected the wiring harness of the trailer to the one on my car, there was evidently a fault that caused a short-to-power in the cars wiring harness. Now, no matter which trailer I connect or even just a lightbulb with one wire to ground and the other to brake/blinker, the passengers-side brake light is always on. Even when the cars lights arent switched on, and even if the car is not running at all-if a trailer any trailer is connected, the passengers brake light of that trailer is on. I believe that the faulty wiring of the used boat trailer which Ive since repaired is to blame for a short-to-voltage in the cars wiring now. Might you be able to suggest a fix or replacement of just one part, or do I need to replace the whole assembly? Thank you!

Sounds like you blew out the converter on the Hopkins item # HM11143720. These converter's are extremely sensitive to faults and surges from trailer wiring and tend to do crazy things when they are damaged. They don't offer a replacement part for this so I am sorry to say you will have to go with a completely new wiring harness.
The Hopkins item # HM11143720 harness is still available and it looks like you got quite a few years out of yours. You can chose to replace it with the same part or upgrade to the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56224 which I find more reliable. Either way you can get away with reusing that power wire to the battery as the power draw is the same.
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56224 is custom fit for the 2013 Volvo S60.
