Is Hollywood Racks Destination 35 lb Per Bike Weight Rating for Each tray or For the Whole Rack
Question:
Hello...I have a question. I am considering buy the Hollywood Rack Destination Bike Rack HR4000 and noticed that it states a load weight of 35lbs per bike. Is there a number I can call to get more clarification of if thats specific to each carrier position, or if the max load for the rack is 140lbs divided into the four positions on the carrier. Reason is that there are only 3 of us right now and our mountain bikes weigh 40lbs, 38lbs and 36lbs respectively...yielding a grow weight of 114lbs, which well under 140lbs collectively but all of them individually weigh more than the 35lbs load limited stated per bike on your site. Thanks in advance for any help you can give us on this.

The 35 lb per bike weight capacity of the Hollywood Racks Destination # HR4000 is for each bike position - the trays are only able to safely handle up to 35 lbs each. Since your bikes weight more than that we need to find you an alternative (the Destination is one of my favorite racks so I definitely see the appeal of it).
The best rack for your situation is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR1400Z as it has a weight rating of 50 lbs per bike and secures them by the frame. One of the things I like about this rack is the integrated anti-rattle and locking hitch pin - the system is very simple but also effective at the same time.
I've attached a review video of this rack for you to check out!
