Question:
One more question, when this slides back what are the chances of damaging my tailgate? Thanks in advance.

With the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550040 having 22-1/2" of travel there is a good chance that the pin box could end up touching the tailgate. To verify if it will you'll need to hook up to the trailer and see how much of the pin box sits below the top of the bedrails. Since pin boxes angle upwards only a small portion will typically sit below the bedrails, if it does at all. You can measure this portion and measure back from where the hitch head would sit when the hitch is fully back. With the hitch head turning the pin box will most likely be over the side of the bedrails instead of directed towards the tail gate though.
