How to Tell if Brake Module Needs to Be Activate for Brake Controller Use on a 2018 Ford F-150
Question:
Hi There, I have installed the Tekosha Voyager xp on my 2018 F150, I have ran a separate +12 volts from the battery. Do I also need to enable the F150 trailer module to make it work? I can see the light on the controller turned on when plug in the trailer, but not sure if it is applying any brakes to the trailer. please help me. thanks

If the brake pedal signal (on the red wire) is coming through to the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 then you won't need to mess with the module, but if there isn't any power on that wire when you press the brake pedal it means the module needs to be enable for that function to work.
The only way to test if power is being sent out to the brakes without probing that red wire is to take your trailer to an open spot (like an empty parking lot) and start traveling at a slower speed like 25 mph. When you step on the brake pedal you'll be able to see if the brake controller is sending power back to the trailer brakes.
