Is It Normal For Pucks To Be Tight When Installing A Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
When putting in the Demco 18K autoslide OEM rail for underbed mounting, one of the pucks is extremely tight, I had to tap it closed. Is this allowed or should I adjust this in some manner to fit better.

It's definitely not unheard of for pucks to be a bit tight when trying to get the 5th wheel hitch into place, and that goes for pretty much any hitch brand. The solution is to loose the puck feet on the hitch a bit until you can get them to drop in easily and then retighten them when in place. For your Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - 18K # DM8550024 you'll want to follow the steps Dave shows in the video I've attached below. He'll start talking about the puck feet around the 12 minute mark of the video.
