I would first want to check and be sure you are in fact getting power thru the spark plug on your # 289-SUA2000i generator. If you are getting power, but it is not sparking, the spark plug will need to be replaced. The spark plug must be properly gapped and free of deposits in order to ensure proper engine operation. It will need to be replaced with one of the following;
Torch E5T
NGK BP4H
Champion L95YC
There are a lot of factors that can effect the spark plug (too much choke, high altitude ect...). If you find that you are not getting power to the spark plug at all, I recommend taking your generator to an authorized service center for diagnosis.
