Winch Recommendation for 6k Boat on Trailer with Wood Bunks

Question:

I’m needing a new winch for my trailer and considering an electric. I have a 26’8” cobalt and the trailer has carpeted bunks not rollers. The boat with fuel is around 6,000 pounds. This particular boat and trailer needs to be out of water more than usual to hit trailer then usually back up and winch on but if to deep the rear will float. What winch do you recommend? I have a 3200 pound hand crank now and it won’t budge if hardly

You gave me a lot of detail on your setup which I really appreciate but for an electric I would recommend going with one that has more capacity than what is normally recommended which is a 2:1 ratio meaning normally you'd want a 3k winch. For your setup a 1:1 ratio would be best

Since we don't have any 6k rated electric winches you'd want to bump up to a 9,500 lb winch like the part # SW1585202 and you'd be set.
