The brake light switch wire on a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee is colored white with a tan stripe. You'll use the quick splice connectors in the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 to easily splice into the wire without damaging it. I do recommend kind of sliding the connector side to side a bit once you cut into the wires to help spread the wire casing a bit more to get a good connection. If the wire gauge is thick enough using butt connectors would be the best options, but brake light switch wires are typically super thin gauge.
if yo have any more questions or need further help installing your new 7-way then please let me know and I'd be happy to help.
