Can/Should 2020 Jeep Cherokee Sport Flat Tow Running Light Wiring Be Connected to Headlights
Question:
2020 Jeep Cherokee sport, flat towed behind RV. Wiring Jeep with #RM15267. I want front side marker lights to work, when Jeep taillights are on. Can I run, separate wire from left taillight wire between, diode and left taillight bulb to left front side, marker light? Side marker would be, getting two signals one from towing wiring, one from OEM wire, when Jeep is being driven. Will this, work?

Sure, you could integrate 2 more of the Roadmaster Hy-Power Diode # RM-790 into the Roadmaster Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 on your 2020 Jeep Cherokee Sport to have the running lights on while you're towing, but it would be easier to just splice into the running light circuit from the motorhome up towards the front of the vehicle by using a Butt Connector # DW05744-5 and a length of 16 Gauge Wire # 16-1-1 so you aren't running more wire from the back of the vehicle to the front.
With that being said, I don't really recommend doing this because it will look like your Jeep is actually being driven and can cause confusion on the highway. If the goal is to make it clearer that the Jeep is being flat towed then I recommend using the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain tow bar instead because it has LED lights along the arms to make it very noticeable that the Jeep is connected to your motorhome. Here are the 2 configurations that this tow bar is available:
- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Ends # RM-676
- Blue Ox Ends # RM-677
The tow bar does come with an umbilical and 6-Way connector so you'll have some extra parts since you already have those with your Flexo-Coil kit.
