Best Way to Carry Long Kayak in Back of Short Bed Truck
Question:
What do you recommend I use to haul my long kayak? I have a truck but the bed is only 5-1/2 feet long so the kayak hangs out the back when I carry it in the bed.

Since you're already wanting to utilize your truck bed for transporting your kayak I recommend picking up the Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender # FHG89ZR as it allows you to secure and support the end of your kayak that hangs out the back of your truck bed.
The uprights will sit 53-1/2" from center of hitch pin hole just to give you a good idea of what to expect with this extender. Just be sure to secure your kayak with a strap like part # 753-2030-02.
