What Steps Are Involved In Removing and Reinstalling The Base Of The BWRVK3500
Question:
Morning, Ive found this question a few times but havent found the answer and it seems to be missed on the replies. For the BandW Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapterhow is removing and putting back not total install in bed of truck done correctly. Both answers have links to the install video and suggest reversing the process. The install video shows at 5:30 time in video taking adjustment bolt off to remove hitch. He then removes the hitch. He really doesnt go over and seems to be missed in the answers if retightenting that bolt is what ya do to put at back on? At 10:16 time in video tightening adjustment bolt then the bolts below to install is shown. So my question and I think others is do we have to loosen those below blots again before putting it back in and retighten or is it just the one and done? If there was another answer that clears that up I apologize I didnt find it but hoping someone can clear this up. If its not answered on purpose due to liability etc please just let me/us know that too. Thank you, Joe Regan

That is a great question. For you initial installation of the # BWRVK3500 you do have to tighten the "below bolts" and the locking bracket. That will be a one and done thing. For removing the hitch from the bed you just loosen the draw down bolt, and retract the handle in the wheel well and the base will lift out. Loosening and tightening the draw down bolt would be the only reoccurring step.
