What Functions Do I Need On My 7 Way Plug In Order To Use The Curt Echo C51180
Question:
I have an old land cruiser. It has a 7 pin trailer connector that I installed. I only did running lights reverse lights and brake/turn indicators. My specific question is can I run a wire direct from the battery to the blue brake wire providing the wire is sized accordingly and fused with a 30amp inline fuse to the blue wire on the 7 pin and I am good to go. The wire will he constantly energized. I dont plan on using the center pin unless its mandatory.

It sounds like you are definitely on the right track here. You can run a wire from the battery thru a circuit breaker and that should be sufficient to power a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180. Now the blue wire is generally wired to the 7 o'clock position and we would not want that one connected. The Curt Echo receives power from the pin in the 1 o'clock position. All it requires is 12v, ground and turn signals to function.
The Curt Echo # C51180 is controller with a smartphone app. If you are not a big phone guy, we do have a manual override button available # C83HR. This allows for activation of the trailer brakes without using your smartphone.
