Will A B&W Companion From A 2022 Ram 2500 Fit A Newer Ram 3500
Question:
Good morning. I currently have a 2022 RAM 2500 with an 8ft bed with OEM prep pucks already in the bed. In the very near future, I may be changing to a RAM 3500 with either a 6ft 4 bed or 8ft bed. I am interested in purchasing the BandW Companion BWRVK3500. Would this system fit any of the afore mentioned trucks and bed sizes? I am trying to avoid having to purchase one hitch today and then it not fit a truck I may purchase in the near future. Thank you for your time!

The B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3500 would not be compatible with the pucks in the bed of your 2022 Ram 2500. It requires a B&W Turnoverball hitch like part # BWGNRK1320-5W. For a puck system you would need the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3600.
If the new Ram has a puck system then you could transfer the hitch over, otherwise you'd need to install a Turnoverball hitch in the bed and then use the standard # BWRVK3500. If you purchased the puck version for use with the current truck you could and then have to transition to the Turnoverball hitch with the new truck you can purchase just the base # BWRVB3500 to minimize the cost a bit.
If you end up getting a bed under 8' you'll want a slider base instead (Turnoverball # BWRVB3405 OEM Puck # BWRVB3670) to gain a bit of turning clearance to prevent the nose of the trailer from contacting the cab of the truck when making sharp turns.
