On your 2012 Toyota Prius you can use any of the quality 2-bike trunk-mount carriers shown on the linked page, including the cost-effective Thule Gateway Pro # TH88VR that you referenced. If you prefer a rack that has locks I suggest Thule's OutWay 2 carrier # TH45JV, which features a unique 2 strap attachment system - instead of 6 nylon straps - to make installation much easier and more secure. Since you're transporting a woman's bike you'll want to add an adapter bar to keep it level (and safe) on the carrier.
