Troubleshooting No Trailer Brakes with Curt Wiring Installed on a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe
Question:
Went to help neighbor who has 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe having trailer stop light problems. With trailer hooked up both turn signals work as did parking lights but no brake lights. Took test light and found that at plug Right and left signals seemed to work well, with parking lights on had voltage at all but not full voltage. No brake lights at plug but work on car. I told her that it is probably a failed diode in the relay module and ordered replacement C56332 which we finally installed today and at plug both right and left turn signals work as do parking lights though i think dimmer than normal and no brake lights! Im assuming that the original module is probably good but cant figure out whats happening. Have you ever seen anything like this one before?

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # C56332 you installed on the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe has the brake light coming into the module as it's own circuit and then it combines it with the turn signals to output to the trailer.
Since you aren't seeing brakes on the vehicle connector side it leads me to believe there is a bad fuse that carries the brake signal on the Santa Fe back to the trailer plug. The trailer plug wiring will be on different circuits than the wiring for the vehicle lights which is why you're seeing the vehicle brake lights work but not the plug for the trailer.
I tried locating the specific fuse on my end but was unable to find anything. I recommend looking through the owner's manual on your end as well. If nothing can be found then you'll want to test the pin on the vehicle that matches with the red wire on the Curt wiring to verify whether or not the red wire is carrying the brake signal. If it isn't and we can't find where the break in signal is at, you can tie into the brake signal elsewhere (like the 3rd brake light) and send it through that way.
