Are Base Plates Vehicle Specific For Use With Falcon Tow Bar
Question:
I own a Falcon hitch assembly and use it on a Volkswagen Cabrio. Now I have sold the car and Im wondering about the base plates which are welded to the frame. If I sell the hitch assembly seperately, do the base plates have to be purchased for a specific vehicle? I was planning to have the current ones cut off to sell with the hitch assembly but after reading your website Im wondering if there are many different name plates used specifically with different vehicles?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Base plates are vehicle specific for use with a tow bar like your Roadmaster Falcon # RM-522, so they do have to be purchased for a specific vehicle, and there are limitations for vehicle years and models as well. There would be no reason to cut off or remove base plates.
