Where can I easily access the brake light wire to connect to my brake controller on a ‘96 Chevy suburban 2500

You'll want to use a circuit tester like the part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires that run to the brake pedal of your 1996 Chevy Suburban 2500 till you find one that has voltage only when the brakes are applied and use it for the red wire of your brake controller.
