Does Vehicle Towed with Dolly Need to have Steering Wheel Locked
Question:
A chevy bolt ev does not have a locking steering column. I called demco and they said I must tie down the steering wheel onj all of their tow dollys. You recomend the kar kaddy ss I have also read to tow the bolt with a dolly that does not have a swivel platform. What is correct? Do I just lash the steering wheel no matter what tow dolly I am using to be sure the wheels on the bolt are straight ahead?

Expert Reply:
Any time a vehicle is being towed on a dolly you need the steering wheel locked. Otherwise around corners the dolly would get the side of the vehicle. This will be true for dollies with or without steering axles like the Kar Kaddy SS part # DM9713045.
