What is Needed to Transfer Prodigy P2 # 90885 Between 2008 Silverado and 2011 GMC Yukon XL
Question:
I have a prodigy P2 in a 2008 silverado and would like to know if there is a kit with the mounting brackets and wiring harness to allow me to interchange it with a 2011 GMC Yukon XL. If no kit is available can you tell me the parts I would need to order to set this up? Thank you for your assistance.

To easily transfer a Prodigy P2 Brake Controller between two vehicles you will need a second mount, either metal bracket part # P7685 or plastic pocket # 7686. Both options include the required mounting hardware. I have linked representative installation videos for this brake controller in both a Silverado and a Yukon XL.
You will also need to equip each vehicle with a Pigtail Wiring Harness # 7894 to allow the controller to simply plug in for use. A Prodigy P2 comes equipped with one mounting bracket and one pigtail harness.
Both of your vehicles should have blunt cut wires under the dash to allow hard-wire installation of a brake controller. I have linked two articles that cover the details of brake controller installation in each of your two vehicles.
Each vehicle will also need to have a 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper and to have the required tow package fuses and/or relays installed in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. You can check the power distribution box for any fuse/relay receptacles labeled trailer or tow that might require these components be installed to activate the tow package wiring.
