What Option is There if Spring Bars Are Needed for a Draw-Tite 06623-099 Weight Distribution System
Question:
Hi just bought a 1999 starcraft 30FK travel trailer, The trailer came with a Draw-tight 06623-099 V-5 WDH BUT the spring bars were missing. Do you have the spring bars available?

Expert Reply:
The Draw-Tite 06623-099 weight distribution system was discontinued back in 2010 and the spring bars are not available. Your best bet at this point is a new system.
For a replacement, I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System which has built-in sway control as well as a streamlined design for easy use. The Steadi-Flex also comes with a lifetime warranty.
In order to make sure you get the correct system, you will need to find out what your total tongue weight is. The total tongue weight is the loaded tongue weight of the trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. For example, part # RP66559 is for a total tongue weight of 500 lbs - 1,000 lbs. Which from what I found on the 1999 Starcraft 30FK, looks like it'll be a sufficient system.
