Is Dexter DX7.5L DX29FR Designed To Mount Inside Of 3" x 4" Trailer Tongue?
Question:
Based on what I saw in the picture and the dimensions, this is designed to slide into not onto a 3x4inch inside diameter tongue? Im trying to replace a TDE LP7000 brake actuator and nobody really makes what I need. My hope is that this part will work once I drill the mounting holes and slide this inside the tongue. Can you confirm if this is the intended usage as well as if it includes hardware for mounting this way? Thank you so much!

Yep! The Dexter DX7.5L # DX29FR is indeed designed to fit inside a 3" x 4" tongue as long as you have disc brakes on your trailer, though it is a bit of a different design than your old TDE LP7000. I included a video where Ryan installs it like that.
If you can modify your tongue to make this work, Great!
If you're not comfortable with making it work, then a coupler that bolts over your tongue like the # 099-175-20 is going to be a better option due to being a bit easier to install.
