Can Dual Receiver and Hitch Extender Be Used Together For Towing with a Bike Rack
Question:
Id like to know if I could I safely use this extender on the bottom of a 2 inch dual hitch receiver to pull a tear trailer which weighs 1500# full. Id also have a rack and 4 bikes max 210# with rack in the top of the dual receiver. My Tacoma has a 500# limit 2 inch receiver hitch.

Expert Reply:
It would be too dangerous to use the Curt Extender # C45796 with a dual receiver like that as it would put too much movement on all of the different parts and extenders like this cut your tongue weight in half so your Tacoma would be overloaded.
Instead I recommend checking out the following parts to see if this will potentially work for your scenario:
- Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-304
- Thule Camber Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # TH9056
- Hidden Hitch Ball Mount # 80232
If one or more parts don't quite work out for your towing setup please let me know and I'll be happy to help you look into this further!
