What Size Generator Is Needed To Power Two Furrion AC Units
Question:
2021 GD 3100 rd with 2 Furrion ac’s and if these capacitors act like a smart start, then why can I not run the two ACs on my 4500 W generator? Per what GD told me these are nothing like a smart start and they do not recommend using on any Furrion AC.

Grand Design was correct that a 4,500 watt generator wouldn't be enough to power two Furrion AC units. A 4,500 watt generator is only going to provide roughly 40 amps and a two AC setup requires 50 amp service. Furrion isn't very forthcoming about the start wattage requirements for their units so all we can say for sure is that you'd need at minimum a 5,500 watt generator in order to power both units even though they have their own built in start capacitors.
The closest option we have to this is the Champion Open-Frame Inverter Generator - 6,250 Watts/5,000 Running Watts # CH64FR.
