Troubleshooting A Genesis GT-2.0 RV Stereo System That's Not Putting Out Sound

Question:

Can the Genesis Technologies GT-2.0 be repaired rather than replaced? Ours was working perfectly until a new battery for the trailer was installed incorrectly connected backwards. This blew out a main fuse in the trailer and after that the GT-2.0 has no sound. It looks like everything is working but there is just no sound at all. Wondering if there is some type of fuse or something in the GT-2.0 itself that blew and needs to be replaced. The operation manual does not have that kind of detail. Is there any kind of troubleshooting to address that issue?

Your stereo will have a fuse located on the power wire that you can gain access to by removing it from the wall/dash/cabinet/etc. and then replace. That being said, if the unit is powering on but there's no sound that wouldn't typically indicate a bad fuse. I would first start by checking that the zones for your speakers are turned on so that the speakers actually receive power.

Other than checking the power to the unit and that all of your wiring is properly connected with no damage to the wiring itself there really isn't anything you can do to repair an RV stereo and replacement tends to be the only option. With the Genesis GT-2.0 body being 7.657" wide x 7.538" tall x 5.05" deep the Furrion RV Stereo w/ DVD Player # DV1230BL is going to be the best option without requiring you to trim to cutout hole larger. Since it's a bit smaller you'll want to make a cover for the hole to fill in the gaps and will then mount the stereo to the cover. I've attached a short video below where I did this with a piece of 1/4" plywood if you want get a few tips.
