Are Adapters Needed To Connect An etrailer Classic Baseplate To A Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar
Question:
Hi, Will I need a adapter for a blue ox AVAIL tow bar? I just got a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 truck. All my previous vehicles I have used Blue ox, tow bar and brackets. I just noticed how much cheaper this etrailer bracket is and Im curious if it will work with the blue ox avail. Thank you for your time and help!!

You would need an adapter to connect a Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar # BX7420 to the etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit - Fixed Arms # e98959, however there isn't a compatible adapter available at this time so you would need to switch to a different baseplate. I recommend just sticking with Blue Ox to avoid having to use any adapters at all. For a 1500 you'll want part # BX1674 and for a 2500 or 3500 you'll need part # BX1681.
