How Does Trailer Light with One Wire Connect to Two Wire Wiring
Question:
old RV traveling light has 15 amp small bulb built in with only one black wire. The current one I am removing that is broken has a white ground? and a black wire. The two wires are currently wired together into a yellow electrical nut which has the same 2 colored wires twisted into the yellow nut on the receiving end. Is it okay to use the newer travel light fixture which only has one black wire?

Expert Reply:
Trailer lights that only have one wire ground through the mounting bracket instead of through a second wire. So to wire what you have now to a single wire you'd run the power wire to it and then run the ground wire to the mounting hardware and you'd be set.
