7,000 lb Axles & How to Determine Correct Hanger

Question:

Hello, I have an old heavy duty mobile home trailer, it doesn’t have any leaf springs and the current axles are 3500lbs each. I want to upgrade this trailer, add 7k-8k axles and add suspension to it. Can you tell me what I need to do. I know welding will be involved I just need to know the parts I need to buy. Thank you

So all of the parts are just going to depend, meaning it's impossible to give you anything exact. To choose the correct axle you need to measure your current axle's hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center; I have added a link below to a video which walks you through how to measure.

For example, if it was 94" hub face to hub face and 79" spring center to spring center you'd use the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles - 94" Long - 7,000 lbs # e93GR. I have added a link below to our entire selection of 7k axles (we do not carry 8k).

Then both the hanger kit and leaf springs will depend on the spacing and clearance you need. I have added a link below which shows you how how to determine axle spacing. That will then tell you the hangers and leaf springs to add. I've also added a link to our selection of those.
