Troubleshooting Wiring Issues After Installation Of T-One 4-Way Wiring On a 2009 Toyota Venza
Question:
While pushing the copper wire thru the cargo space as directed. I heard a popinch similar to a light bulb popping with an immediate 2-3 second buzz. Sounded like it came from the bundle of wires that run thru the same hole. The electric cargo door would short beep once and not close from the dash nor the button the door. I tired the next morning and the door is now opening and closing as it did before the wiring harness install. When I went to start the engine the vehicle started then shut off. Second push to start. The engine seemed to run fine. Power steering light came on for a brief moment but then when off. I checked the fuses. the interior fuses 1 and 2 appear to be burn. But not broke. The meter readers light didnt light up on the interior part of the fuse box. I havent driven the vehicle more than a mile. My dealership is 2 hours away from where I live. What do you suggest my next move be? The vehicle seems to be running fine. But its a new purchase and I dont want to cause any major issues. Thank you for your time!!

First you will want to perform a visual inspection of the area you ran the power wire for the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118482 on your 2009 Toyota Venza. The pop noise you heard concerns me and makes me think there was a short in the wiring to a ground point. If you see any visible spots on the harness worn down you will want to repair those right away. If you do not feel comfortable with electrical and wiring you can take your Venza to a service shop in your area to have them inspect the wiring as you do not have to visit a Toyota dealer to have this inspected.
