Bunk Board Bracket Recommendation For Boat Trailer

Question:

My 25ft 4,000lb boats hull is curved on the longitudinal. Can I use support brackets of different heights to create a curve in the bunk board to support the hull over a larger area than using adjustable rollers. I am considering using 2X6 inch boards laid with the 6 Inch surface horizontal. Could you suggest the hardware required. Thanks

I recommend the CE Smith Bolster And Swivel Mounting Brackets, part # CE10000G-4. These are 9 inches long and have a swivel feature that enables you to tilt the bunks to the correct angle to fit the bottom of your boat.

We also carry the mounting U-bolts to attach the brackets to the trailer frame. They vary in size and you will want to choose the correct ones based on the frame size of your trailer. I have attached a link to our product page for the U-Bolts we carry. All of these come with the washers and nuts needed.

You can use different sized bunk boards and place them so that they are staggered on your trailer and provide support for your 25 ft long boat. The bunk boards we carry range from 3 ft to 6 ft in length and are made of 2 by 4 inch boards, and are all covered with a marine-grade carpet. Using bunks of varied lengths will give you the ability to place them under your boat to give you the best support.

I have also attached a link to our product page for boat guide-ons. These can provide a great way to visually line up your boat when steering it to load on your trailer.
