Can A Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch Be Used On A Flatbed Truck

I currently have this hitch in my 09 silverado 2500hd. Im thinking of going to a flatbed, is there a way to use this hitch with a flatbed?

Since the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034 requires base rails it typically wouldn't work with a flatbed truck, so we usually recommend going with a B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Flatbed Trucks # BWGNRK1500 and a hitch like # BWRVK3050.
Another aspect to look at is the increased bed height that typically comes along with a flatbed truck, which is why the # BWRVK3050 is so short. If you used a regular fifth wheel hitch your trailer would most likely either have a hard time even coupling to the hitch or would sit too nose high once it is coupled.
