Will The Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack Allow For An E-Bike With 4.8" Wide Tires?
Question:
I have a QuietKat Rubicon Ebike with 4.8inch tires. I really love Thule products and was thinking about purchasing the EasyFold XT 2 Hitch Bike Rack. I really like that it comes with a ramp to assist in loading a heavy Ebike. I noticed the maximum tire width for this rack is 4.7.... can I make it work?

With the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 the Fat Bike Straps # TH985101 are the limiting factor which says they are limited to a 4.7" wide tire. You may be able to fit your 4.8" wide tires depending on how tall the profile of the wheels are. As Thule does state they only fit up to 4.7" it means they have had issues fitting on bikes with a 4.8" wide tires. An obvious way to make it fit is to deflate the tires to let them sit lower but this would mean inflating and deflating the tires constantly. I recommend locating either someone who already has this rack or your local Thule dealer to see if they have one you would be able to stick your bike on to confirm fitment.
