Should Spring Bars be Hard to Move and Spacers Loose on Equal-i-zer 14K Weight Distribution System
Question:
I ordered the equalizer rating for 14000lbs and had the dealership install it on my new 2023 Jayco Eagle 312bhok travel trailer and I noticed the sway bars are really hard to move in and out also the spacer rivet and washers are loose. Should I be concerned was it installed correctly? Or am I doing something wrong I didnt have these issues with my last equalizer hitch. Any help would be appreciated Tks

In regards to the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37140ET, yes the springs bars should have tension under load. This is a pretty heavy duty system so odds are there is just more tension than you're used to. The angle set bolt should not be loose, it should be tightened until the spacer rivet is firmly against the shank per the instructions.
If you are concerned with how the system is setup, just take it back to the dealer that installed it so they can fix any issues.
