Where to Find Stoplight Circuit for Tow Pro Liberty at Rear of 2022 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Im installing a Tow Pro Liberty on a 2022 Toyota Sienna hybrid minivan. Im trying to determine the best place to pull a brake signal for the red wire on the brake controller universal wiring harness. Im planning to install the brake controller unit in the back of the van on the drivers side because thats where the trailer wiring is and the 12v battery is nearby on the other side of the rear of the vehicle. I can also tap into a brake light fairly easily if thats a good place to pull the brake signal from the vehicle. I am also trying to determine whether I need the diode encapsulated protection device. The van has adaptive cruise control and other safety features that involve automatic braking. Thanks for your help!

If the plan is to do the brake controller wiring at the rear of your vehicle the best place to find the stop light circuit for the install of the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED24FR would be the third brake light circuit unless the rear of your vehicle has amber turn signals and red stoplights that do not blink with the blinkers. Normally people find the circuit at the brake pedal switch but that would be all the way up towards front of vehicle.
