Choosing Between 3,000 and 5,000 Lb SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs for 2022 GMC Sierra 2500

Question:

So I was looking at the 5,000 pound sumo springs just because they’re $50 bucks cheaper and more for the bang. But don’t want to take away from my ride either. Iam towing a 14,500lb fifth wheel do u think the 3,000lb would be just enough for a 3500 truck.

In regards to the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs for a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500; part # SSR-203-40-2 for 3,000 lbs or part # SSR-203-47-2 for 5,000 lbs, I don't recommend just going with the highest rated option as it's best to be in the middle of the spring's capacity as this will allow them to provide the best mix between support and comfort. If the trailer weighs 14,500 lbs then the pin weight is likely around 2,200 lbs. I'm sure the 3,000 lb option would be alright but you are right at the limit so in which case, the 5,000 lb option would be a better choice for you.
