When installing the 7-Way Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 on your 2015 Kia Soul it appears there is a nice space above the cover for the fuse panel. I have included an installation video we did for this for an older 2012 Soul as it has a similar space which the installer used to mount the circuit breakers which come in the kit. This is very close to the battery as well to protect the wiring.
If you are looking for a recommendation for a brake controller the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR is a great option. The main portion of the controller is hidden behind the dash with only a small control knob visible giving you a clean appearance. This controller is also proportional so as your braking adjusts the controller will vary the amount of power sent to the brakes to remain level with the vehicle input.
